This is one of my all-time favorite TTRPGs. Admittedly, I am still relatively new to tabletops, but this is going to remain a perennial favorite of mine. This encourages such intense, emotional collaborative storytelling. I feel like I know my friends better for having played it with them, honestly, even behind the guise of a character. The stories it can tell are so intricate and compelling that I managed to turn a 21-card game into 9,800 words of a short story. Seriously, I cannot recommend this game enough. If you love horror, weird houses, or just putting your friends through the wringer, this is the game for you.
It's also fun to hack the game to work with other sets of cards—I would one day love to see a version adapted for a full tarot deck. I'm also looking forward to playing a variant with a 3-suit deck of cards I've personally designed for use with my friends.
Also, playing this game will make the deck of cards you use haunted. Just so you know.
Me and my friends just started playing this game, it's incredibly fun!! We played it for about 5 hours and it felt like we were only just getting started, we'll definitely be returning to play this more very soon. :))
i haven't played this yet, but wow i'm so excited about playing this house of leaves ttrpg! thank you for making this, i'll def write a proper review once i actually play it but i just got really excited!
Wasn't able to finish all of this but I had a lot of fun with the set up! I really liked the idea of helping to create the house and everything - there is a lot of room for creativity with this game!
Played this with a small group of friends over Discord and had a blast! A great short story as well as a great game, ours lasted about two hours before our own narrative arc reached a natural conclusion and we plan to play again soon. Very highly recommend for a fun and spooky evening game, and is easy to play online!
This was a fun game! My twin, friend and I played as a group of high schoolers and really enjoyed building the rooms and the suspense until the ending, where we scrambled to escape the monster we uncovered in the last room (my twin had the idea of rolling d20s to see how well we escaped each room; we had a close call at the end, but made it out relatively unscathed). I'm including a screenshot below of the house we built in Google Slides in lieu of paper :^) Thank you for the enjoyable evening!
i played this with my friends and let me say i completely underestimated the pure amount of joy that would come out of such a short pdf about a house-- and this is coming from a haunted house fanatic! the writing is short but SO effective and it asked the right questions to get my friends and me fleshing out our two story house, the top floor of which we never got to explore sadly because we came crashing through the flimsy stair steps into a closet containing a santa animatronic which proceeded to terrorize us. it was an absolute ride and we plan on playing another game, hopefully soon!
the only issue we ran into during our game was that the instructions weren't clear enough. half way through the house exploration, we realized that we only needed to be drawing one card for each room instead of one card from every player every time we entered a new room. also, none of us had been keeping track of what cards we got every time we drew them so when we needed to see which suit appeared the most to determine the ending, we did a mad scramble to remember them. these won't affect our next playthrough or future ones now that we've got the hang of it but they did halt our gameplay just a bit.
have you ever wanted to go into a house? if so I believe this game is for you. when I went in there was a coat check. every room had a butler, sometimes the same one as in the previous room. my friends did not know, but I was there to destroy the house. to face the shadow maid after all those years.

funziona anche con i mazzi di 40 carte?
Sì! Creerà solo 40 stanze.
This looks amazing. Any chance of more community copies or a couple pages in the preview so I can get a sense of what it’s like?
omg i absolutely uploaded new preview screenshots and forgot i had them set to hidden! should be fixed now!

A really great game that does a phenomenal job at blending short story and rule descriptions together into a super cool and intriguing experience.
